    F.A.Q.

So, due to the amount of re-asked questions on my tumblr, I decided to create this, and link it to my main page. If any of these questions are asked, I will redirect you here.

Is Rox your real last name?

    • Yes, Rox is my real last name, haha. No one ever believes me, but it’s what my birth certificate says.

Are you going to be on Warped Tour this summer (2012)?

    • I hope to be, nothing is set in stone yet, your guess is as good as mine!

    How do you book shows?

    1. You rent a venue, you contact the bands you want (generally 4-5 total for the show)
    2. You agree on a guarantee (how much you pay the bands)
    3. You make a flyer for you and the bands to promote the show (include time, date, location, address, bands playing, and your booking company name if you create one)
    4. You promote the show (facebook, myspace, tumblr, around town flyering, radio stations, etc)
    5. You find tough friends to run security for you if you think it’ll be necessary
    6. Make sure you set a load-in time (this is where the bands load in their equipment and back line in the order in which they’ll play, as well as they need to be there for the show)
    7. Either have yourself or someone you can absolutely trust run the door to collect money
    8. Rent a PA if the venue doesn’t have one
    9. Find someone to run the PA if you don’t know how to
    10. Pay the bands their guarantees at the end of the night
    11. Clean up the venue to create a good rep for yourself, as well as get your security deposit back

How do I get on Warped Tour?

    • Apply for internships with non-profits and sponsors.
    • Apply for jobs with the vendors
    • Apply for a vendor spot if you have your own clothing line you want to promote
    • Don’t sleep around with dudes in bands, it will ruin your rep, as well as make it hard for you to find a job- no company wants to be known as the company that brought out that girl, plus until there is more equality between men and women, you’re making it hard for girls that are interested in working in the industry to get a start because you become a prime example of why hard-working women can’t get jobs. I wish I could tell you that you are free to be yourself and do whatever you want, but you have to be professional. If you worked at an office, everyone would think less of you if you were sleeping with your boss, even though a lot of areas of the industry are more casual and laid back, professionalism is key. Now if you develop real feelings towards someone, that’s expected, but don’t mix up business and pleasure.
    • Look for hidden opportunities, if your friends band wants to follow warped and promote in lines, then go with them, network with the other bands doing it, and maybe if you’re lucky and work hard, you’ll get your chance
    • Network

How did you get on Warped Tour?

Could you get me a job on Warped Tour?

    • No. I have offered advice on how to get involved, but other than that, you’re on your own. I figured it out for myself, so you can, too, if you have what it takes.

Who have you worked for on Warped Tour// What did you do on Warped?

    • District Kills Records/Sparks Will Fly
       Hustle CDs all day.
    • Topshelf Records
      Hustle shirts and CDs
    • Warped Production
      Production Office Assistant (2011)
Sign people into guest list/press/skate competition, give out proper passes.
    • Umbrella Clothing
      Sold shirts

How did you start touring with Call Me Anything?

    • I met Will via mutual friends at a party at my place, and we became friends since. Circa last January/February his band, Call Me Anything was looking for a TM. Given that I had touring experience, was hating school, and got along really well with Will, I dropped him a line and asked if they wanted to take me out. They all discussed it, and I sent my resumé over and they were into it, and their management was into it, and they asked me to do their week long winter tour in feb/march. And within the first 24 hours, they saw how I worked/operated and liked how I did my job and decided that it wasn’t going to be a one time thing. We all get along so well, and all of us together boosts the productivity of the shows and make them run so much more efficiently.

    Do you like girls?

    • Yes.

    Do you like boys?

    • Yes.

    Are you bisexual?

    • What gave it away?

    Where are you from?

    • I was born and raised in Brunswick, ME, and have been living in Boston, MA since 2009. I moved back home with my family this past fall. I am planning on moving out west in 2012.

    Are you in a relationship?

    • As of May 12, 2011, yes.

    Who are you dating?

Why don’t you make an FAQ? Everyone asks the same questions and it’s annoying.

    • DONE.
